1. Freeze the drawing revision before cutting steel
The approved 3D file, 2D drawing, material, color, texture, tolerance and assembly requirement should share the same revision identity. When a buyer sends a new file, the team should confirm whether it replaces all previous files or only updates one feature.
2. Review the cost and schedule impact of each change
A change to wall thickness, screw boss position, snap fit, gate area, parting line or cosmetic surface can affect mold inserts, electrodes, cooling, ejection and trial schedule. Huanze reviews whether a requested change is minor polishing, insert correction or a larger mold modification.
3. Approve samples after every meaningful mold modification
If a mold change affects critical dimensions, assembly, appearance or function, new samples should be measured and approved. The approval should state whether old inventory can still be used and when the new revision becomes effective.
4. Keep a simple change log for overseas projects
The change log should include date, request owner, reason, affected drawing, mold action, sample status, approval result and shipment impact. This helps purchasing, engineering and suppliers keep the same understanding across time zones.
5. Control injection mold revisions with Huanze
