Cosmetic Housing

Plastic Housing Texture Selection for Injection Molding

Texture is not only a cosmetic choice. It affects draft angle, mold polishing, part release, visible defects and how samples should be approved before mass production.

Plastic housing texture selection for injection molding

1. Start with the product surface goal

Buyers should define whether the housing needs a matte texture, fine grain, leather-like texture, polished surface, painted surface or logo area. Different surfaces hide or reveal weld lines, flow marks, scratches and gate vestige differently.

2. Texture usually needs more draft angle

A textured vertical wall creates more friction during demolding than a polished wall. If draft angle is too small, the part may drag, scratch or show uneven gloss. Texture depth should be reviewed together with ribs, bosses, parting line and ejector layout before steel is cut.

3. Texture changes mold work and correction risk

Once texture is applied, some mold corrections become harder. Huanze recommends finishing DFM review, parting line confirmation, gate position and sample corrections before final texture work whenever possible.

4. Approve texture with real lighting and handling

Golden samples should show acceptable texture, gloss, color and visible defect level under agreed lighting. For housings handled by users, touch feeling and scratch visibility may matter as much as dimensions.

5. Review housing texture with Huanze

Huanze supports plastic housing DFM, mold texture review, cosmetic sample approval and injection molding production for drone shells, medical housings, appliance housings and equipment enclosures. Contact Annie by WhatsApp, WeChat or phone at +86 15801883001, or email annie@huanzekeji.com.
